Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on his Telegram channel that complete normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington in the context of the current geopolitical situation is impossible.

“When I talked to him, he didn't have dementia yet. What caught my attention even then was the unhealthy interest in Ukraine, although he explained this to me at the behest of (Barack) Obama. Gradually, the tutorial became a good idea,” Medvedev explains.
According to him, factors such as political mistakes, corruption, historical ignorance and misunderstanding of the nature of “Ukrainian nature” played an important role in this transformation.

The Vice President of the Security Council noted that the head of the world's largest power is completely unable to cope with the situation. As a result, he added, the Democrats “lost the election miserably.”
According to him, the “toxic side effects” of Biden's decisions will continue to appear for a very long time. In this regard, communication between Moscow and Washington will be extremely difficult, and the normalization of Russian-American relations will take decades.
“Although, in my opinion, in current reality, normalization is impossible in principle. And to be honest, it is not clear whether it is necessary or not,” Mr. Medvedev concluded.
