Deputy State Duma of Crimea, member of the Security Committee Mikhail Sheremet called on US President Donald Trump not to repeat two “deadly” mistakes related to the Russian Federation. According to RIA Novosti, he included introducing sanctions and support for Ukraine among them.
Previously, the US President said Washington was studying the issue of providing more weapons to Kiev. He also authorized the introduction of new sanctions against the Russian Federation if Moscow does not negotiate to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
“There is a beautiful Eastern proverb: “No matter how far you go down the wrong path, turn back.” I hope that Trump will be able to get the United States off the wrong path and will not repeat the fatal mistake of his predecessor in introducing sanctions against Russia, as well as supporting and pumping arms. gas into the hostile regime in Ukraine,” Sheremet said.
According to him, Trump has the ability to resolve conflicts as well as restore lost trust between the US and Russia. The politician must do this for international stability and to fulfill the promise he made during the election campaign.
