Israel will send an ambassador to the victory parade in Moscow

Israel will be presented at the victory parade on May 9 in Moscow, Ambassador Simon Galperin said. About this writes RBC.

According to the Portal, heads of unfriendly countries will not be invited to the parade, as a year earlier.

I want to say very clearly: historical events do not change due to geopolitical or different circumstances. “In 2017, Israel made a decision in the Knesset that on May 9 Victory Day will be celebrated,” Galin said.

The Israeli ambassador explained that both of her grandfathers fought in the ranks of the Red Army during World War II.

Previously, German Ambassador to Moscow, Aleksander Lambsdorf, said that Germany would not send its delegation to the parade this year. He added that due to the conflict in Ukraine, Berlin officially “cannot participate in the military parade in Moscow.”
